Cinetree for Kodi
Introduction
This add-on allows you to play films and documentaries from Dutch film platform cinetree.nl. This an unofficial plugin. It has not been created, or endorsed by Cinetree, nor is the developer in any way affiliated with Cinetree. The add-on only provides a frontend to the Cinetree web services. Access to cinetree.nl is restricted to the Benelux countries.
A Cinetree account is required to play content, but you can always browse the entire collection of films and documentaries, even without an account. Cinetree offers two types of accounts: a free account to rent films only, or an account with a monthly subscription that offers access to an ever-changing collection of free films and discounts on rental films.
Users with a subscription account can watch the subscription films directly from the add-on. Version 2.0 introduced the possibility to rent films directly from the add-on by paying with your prepaid credit at Cinetree. Use the cinetree website or the official cinetree android/iOS app if you prefer another payment method, or to top up your credit. Once paid, the film can be watched from the add-on. All rented films will be available in the My Films/Rented menu during the rental period.
Privacy respecting
The official Cinetree apps send a staggering amount of data to Google. Even though you pay Cinetree for their services, they still effectively sell your data to obtain Google’s services. Declining cookies doesn’t help much, because technically, the data is being sent to Google directly, and as such are no cookies.
This add-on does not send any data to Google or other third parties and does not store cookies by default. With this add-on, you can watch films without worrying about your privacy, while paying Cinetree fairly for their services through your subscription or by renting films.
Installation
Only Kodi 19 (Matrix) and above are supported.
Preferred method
The Cinetree add-on is available in the official Kodi repository. Installing from the official repo is the easiest and most secure way of installing the add-on. The add-on will be updated automatically each time a new version is published.
From the home screen select Settings/Add-ons/Install from repository/ Kodi Add-on repository/Video add-ons. Scroll down to Cinetree, select and clik on Install.
